What is Xylitol

One of the oldest sweeteners in the world is Xylitol. It's health benefits are not yet well-known, but if you are concerned of the healthiness of your teeth and gums, xylitol is a great partner for you!

Xylitol

Xylitol is a natural sweetener that can be found in for example berries and fruits. Xylitol can be industrially manufactured from birch fibers. That is why in Finnish it is also known as "birch sugar". It's sweetness is comparable to regular sugar, but it also additionally tastes cool and fresh.

Xylitol differs a bit from other sweeteners. Bacteria that causes tooth cavities cannot use xylitol as their nutrition source. So unlike other sweeteners, xylitol actually block tooth cavities from spreading!
